Let’s see how to export virtual machine to OVA using VirtualBox. In the past, moving a virtual machine (VM) from one computer to another was difficult. Several XML control files controlled the virtual machines and moved the VMs, which required editing these files and ensuring that you were moving every file associated with them.

Naturally, things didn’t always go smoothly. VMs refusing to reboot, VirtualBox failing to identify virtual machines, and media conflicts were common. The OVA file can be used on other virtualization operating systems, such as HP, VMware, and XenServer.

Export Virtual Machine to OVA with VirtualBox

Before exporting your virtual machine, make sure it is powered off. To shut down your VM, locate it from the VirtualBox Manager and click on the “Close” button.

As we can see, there are three distinct OVF formats, including (0.9, 1.0, and 2.0). The 0.9 is an older format with fewer support options,

To export Virtual Appliance Settings, select the format of the virtual appliance and exported location and then choose Next.
Under File, select the directory and filename for the virtual machine. Oracle VM VirtualBox cannot save VMs in the system documents of the currently logged users.
Tick the box “Write Manifest File” to check the integrity of the data and stop the deployment of damaged appliances.
Include the ISO image file in the OVA file.

On the Export virtual appliance settings page, the information will be added to the virtual appliance. Then, select the Finish button. We can alter it by double-clicking on individual lines. We will retain the default settings, and we will do so later if we want to alter them.

You must wait until Oracle VM VirtualBox completes importing the virtual machine to the OVA file.

We have successfully converted the virtual machine to an OVA file. We can transfer the same file to Hyper-V, VMWare, or XenServer.

This article will teach us how to use TeamViewer on Android devices. I was on TeamViewer trying to assist a friend with their computer problems in Windows 11, and they wanted me to help with something on their smartphone. At the time, I didn’t have a way to view their phone, or at least I didn’t realize I did. Apparently, you can use TeamViewer to perform this. Here you can find the basic setup.

Use TeamViewer on Android Devices

Open the Google Play Store and search for TeamViewer to download and install. You can also download the computer version here.

I’m using a Huawei phone and installing TeamViewer. To start the app on the phone, click on GET STARTED.

Select agree and continue.

Control Computer with Android Phone

I will try to control my computer with my smartphone. So, we need to open TeamViewer on the computer to get the Partner ID. Type partner ID and click on Remote control on the Android device.

Now you must create an account with TeamViewer if you don’t have one or sign in. I signed in.

Now the Computers & Contacts window opens. Click on the Connect button towards the bottom left of the screen.

Enter your partner’s password and click ok.

Now click on install Quicksupport.

Choose to install.

How to Control a Phone with a Computer

I can also set it to view my phone screen on my computer. Go back to the Control Remote Device screen and tap on the Open QuickSupport from the bottom.

Select agree and continue.

Click on Get Started.

Select settings.

Click download.

Click Install.

How to Connect to This Device

If you are trying to assist someone, get them to provide you with this number and put it in TeamViewer on your computer as usual. When you click on the SEND MY ID button, they will share that ID by email or other apps. If they are not talking to you directly on the phone, they are not contacting you directly.

Share TeamViewer ID.

Open your Gmail and click on the link.

Or you can visit start.teamviewer and enter teamviewer ID.

Click on the Launch installed TeamViewer button, or you can download the single-use Teamviewer.

Type control remote device partner ID and click on connect to partner.

Click connect.

When you type the ID in TeamViewer on the PC and press Connect, this pops up on your device. In the user details window, check the box where I want to allow access and then tap on CONTINUE.

Then on the Allow remote support screen page, choose ALLOW.

Select Enable.

I can now see and interact with the phone using my computer.

Open your Google Chrome web browser on the PC you need support.

If not already installed, download and install Chrome.

Click on the Add to Chrome button.

In the popup window that opens, click Add extension.

Click on the extension’s icon. Click the pin icon. This pins the icon onto the bar.

Clicking on the icon for the first time opens the Chrome Remote Desktop page. At this point, I thought I was doing something wrong because I couldn’t find any way to access someone’s computer remotely except my own.

I clicked on Access My Computer to see what had happened. The top or middle one on the screen does not matter. Then it asked me to sign into my Google account with my email and password.

If you want to install Chrome Remote Desktop, click on Install in the small box in the lower right-hand corner. A second box will then appear towards the top.

Click on the install button.

Select yes if you would like to pin the Chrome remote desktop on the Windows tasker.

Click on the blue download button.

Click on the Accept and Install button.

Select ok.

Once I installed it on the web version, a small orange box asked me to create a PIN. I completed it, and it gave me a code number that was only useful for five minutes.

Click on Remote Access on the left menu and select Turn on.

Select the name for your computer and then Next.

Enter it twice. Click the Start button. Helping improve Chrome is optional.

When you receive the message about a Native messaging host for remoting host management, select yes.

You should now be able to view your device. If you use the same email on multiple devices, you should see them all displayed.
If you want to delete something, just click on the delete button.

The web interface and the desktop version are similar.
When you open the Chrome Remote Desktop version or click on the Chrome extension icon, you will find Remote Support on the left-hand menu.

To grant control to another, click on the + Generate Code button. This generates a number. This number is only useful for five minutes. Give it to the person who will relocate to your computer.

Your client will first need to install the extension, then open it and give you their generated code. Enter it in the Connect to another computer section, and then click Connect.

Enter your PIN and click on the arrow key.

Click on the save button if you want to save the pin.

Now you can see the Google Chrome remote desktop connection.

The setup here is quite complicated. It took me a few attempts to figure it out, but I finally got it working so that I could control one of my computers from the other.

How to Fix the RPC Server is Unavailable
In this blog, we will explore how to fix the error the RPC server is unavailable that stops you from connecting to your VPN servers when using the Windows operating system. We will provide a solution for the issue of the system not logging you on due to the following error: the RPC server is unavailable, and Windows 10 can’t log.

What is RPC?

The RPC (remote procedure call) is a protocol that allows multiple processes on a computer to communicate with each other to perform a task. An RPC server cannot communicate with another computer on the same network, resulting in an error.

the RPC server is unavailable when logging on; the Proton VPN app can’t configure DNS settings properly.

Reason

There are some reasons for this problem.
Incorrect DNS settings.
Incorrect time and time zone settings are necessary.
The TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service is not working.
The Remote Registry service is not working.

Possible Fix to RPC server unavailable Error

Follow the steps below the instructions.
If the first step doesn’t work, then move on to the second step.

Reset your PC
Flush your DNS cache
Make sure all RPC services are running on your computer
Verify RPC isn’t blocked by your firewall
Boot PC using a normal startup
Enable IPv6 and file & printer sharing
Edit your registry settings

Flush your DNS cache to Fix RPC server unavailable error

Search for the command prompt and Run as administrator.

Now, attempt to connect to Proton VPN and see if the issue is resolved.

The screenshots used in this blog are from Windows 10; however, the instructions for Windows 11 are almost the same as the instructions for earlier versions of Windows.

Restart Services to Fix the RPC server is unavailable remote desktop

Make sure that all RPC services are running on your computer.
Search for the Services app and run as an administrator.

Find the DCOM Server Process Launcher service and right-click on it, then choose properties.

Ensure that:
The startup type is set to Automatic.
Service status is running.
If they don’t, set the Startup type to Automatic and start the service.

Restart your computer and check if the issue is fixed.

Boot Using Normal Startup

Open the run box (Windows + R key), type msconfig, and open it.

In the General tab, make sure Normal startup is selected. If it isn’t, select it, then click OK and restart your PC to see if the issue is resolved.

Verify Internet Protocol

An RPC server is unavailable. RDP may be caused by a misconfigured local network connection. Enabling IPv6 and File and printer sharing on the network can fix the problem.

Right-click on the network connection and select Properties.

Click the following boxes, then click OK.

Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)

Restart your computer and see if the problem is fixed.

Verify that RPC Isn’t Blocked by your Firewall

Search for the Firewall & network protection system settings and open it.
Click Allow an app through the firewall.
Locate Remote Assistance and ensure that both its Public and Private boxes are checked.
If you make any changes, select Save and restart your system to verify if the issue is resolved.
A selective startup is suitable for troubleshooting problems, but it may prevent RPC services from loading.

Edit your registry settings

Type regedit in the run box and select ok.

Back up your registry by clicking File and Export.

Warning: Do not skip this step. Changing the registry can seriously damage your Windows installation. Always make sure that you possess a backup to restore.

Go to the following path.

Change Calculator Theme in Windows

This will be shown on my Windows 11 desktop, but you can also use these steps on your Windows 10.

There are a few ways to locate your calculator app, but I appreciate doing it this way. Click in the search field, type in Calculator, and you will see the app appear. Click to open it.

Once the calculator is open, locate the top left. You will see the three horizontal menu lines. Click on it.
On the menu that appears, scroll down to the bottom for Settings and click on it.

In the settings will pop up, and you will see two options:
Appearance (App Themes)
About (Calculator)
You need to click on the App theme option.

A drop-down menu will display, and this will show you some options:
Light
Dark
Use a system setting that matches the Windows theme setting.
Click the radio button to the left of the one you wish to select.

Here, you can choose the app theme. You have learned how to do this. It is time to share your experiences with others.

Enable Dark Mode via Personalization Settings

As you observed earlier, Calculator’s default App theme setting is set to Use system setting. If you choose a Dark theme for Windows, the Calculator app will reflect the changes. This method would be beneficial if you prefer the Dark mode and would prefer the other apps and elements to adapt to it.

To enable Dark Mode in the Calculator app via Windows Settings, right-click on the Windows start icon in the Taskbar or hold the Windows key + X to open the Quick Access menu and choose Settings app from the list of options. Alternatively, you can have the Windows key + I to open the Settings app directly.

In the Windows Settings app, you will find several tabs on the left. Select Personalization, and next, click on Colors on the right.

Next, click on the drop-down menu to select your mode option.

You will now find three options: Light, which is selected by default, Dark, which we will be selecting, and Custom, which allows you to set different modes for Windows elements and apps. In this case, Dark and Custom would do, but we would choose the latter since we intend for the changes to be applied across the system.

Launch the Calculator app as discussed earlier, and the theme will be altered along with the other Windows apps and elements.

Now that you have learned how to enable Dark mode for the calculator app, you can say farewell to the constant eye strain and focus on the work at hand.

In this article, we will explore ways to reopen last browser tab in Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, and Firefox, plus answer some questions regarding closed web pages and browser histories. This is the reopening of closed tabs on a Mac or PC for any browser, including Edge, Google Chrome, and Safari.

You Can Restore All Tabs Once a Browser crashes

If a system error prompts your browser to crash, it will automatically ask if you want to restore the last session when you restart the browser. Just confirm the action, and you will get all your tabs back. You can alter the settings in most browsers so that your last session is automatically reloaded whenever you open the application, regardless of what caused it to close. Keep reading to discover how.

You can do the same thing quickly by pressing the following keys: Ctrl+Shift+T
The right-click option is compatible with all browsers currently installed on my system, including Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. Mozilla Firefox, and others. Users select a tab to see that option.

Reopen Last Browser Tab

Restore Tabs in Chrome

The entire browsing session can only be restored in the Google Chrome browser after a program crash. If you accidentally close the browser, you need to restore each tab as follows manually:

To restore your last closed tab, right-click on the tab section, then select Reopen closed tab.

To reopen multiple tabs, open the Chrome settings menu (three dots at the top right of the address bar). Click History and select History again in the new menu.

You will be able to see your recent browsing history. Hold down the [Ctrl] key and select all the tabs you wish to restore.

You can also set up your Chrome browser to reset your last browsing session every time you restart the browser. This means that when you close the browser, you will automatically locate where you left off the next time you open it. Open your Settings and select the On Startup tab. Now click Continue, where you left the option to activate this function.

Restore Closed Tabs in Edge

If you accidentally close a tab in the Edge web browser, select any open tab (not in the empty address bar) and choose to reopen the closed tab to choose a tab to restore. If you accidentally close the entire browser, reopen it and do the same thing.

It is possible to set up Edge to return to your most recent browsing session when you open the browser. Click the three dots icon in the upper right corner of the window, then history.

Restore Browsing Sessions and Tabs in Firefox

The Firefox browser allows you to restore your full browsing session anytime. Open the Settings menu (three horizontal lines in the top right-side corner) and select History.

In the Firefox history, open recently closed tabs. To reopen an individual tab that you accidentally closed, you can instead select History.

Recently closed tabs and choose a tab to reopen.

All pages you have viewed recently are also listed under your Recent history, so you can scroll down and locate the page you would like to return to. Clicking Manage History will take you to a list of visited pages categorized by time (today, yesterday, etc.)

If you have activated Never Remember history in your Firefox Privacy and Security settings, once you have closed the browser, it is no longer possible to restore the last session or reopen recently closed tabs.

If you would like Firefox to automatically return to your last browsing session every time you open it, go to Firefox Settings, General, Startup, and tick the box Restore the previous session.

Reopen Windows in Safari Browser

It is very easy to restore tabs on your Mac. To return to your Safari browsing session, simply open Safari and go to the menu. Select History and then reopen all windows from the last session.

Configure Virtual Machine in VirtualBox

Open Oracle VM VirtualBox
Select the virtual machine from the VirtualBox list. In our opinion, it is Linux.
We need to turn off the virtual machine to change some settings.
Select the virtual machine and click the settings icon.

In the General tab, we have different options.

Basic: You can modify the name, type, and version of the virtual box you are running.
Advanced: here, you can alter the location where VirtualBox stores the snapshot files.
Description: you can add a description for your virtual machine
Disk Encryption: enable disk encryption if you require it. In this virtual machine, we will not enable disk encryption.

Select the System tab and click on the Processor option. Select as many cores as you can comfortably accommodate. You can allocate multiple cores to the VM if you possess a multi-core system. Extended features such as VT-x and AMD-V can also be enabled if your CPU supports them.

Select the Display tab, allocate sufficient video memory, and enable 3D acceleration. Ideally, 16MB should be enough for a basic installation, but if you want a smoother experience, allocate as much as possible. Adding 3D acceleration is not essential, but it can help speed up applications that require 3D acceleration.

VirtualBox Storage Settings

Select Storage, and under Storage Devices, click on Controller IDE, Empty, then click on the CD icon and select a disk file.

Select the audio options. We can enable audio, select an audio controller, and install an install an audio driver) for the virtual machine.

Click on the Network tab to enable or disable the network adapter, and select the type of virtual network connection.

Select the Serial Ports option. You can enable Serial Ports and modify them on your virtual machine.

Click on USB Options. You can enable the USB Controller by selecting the version (1.1, 2.0, or 3.0).

Select the Shared Folders option – you can create a folder and share it between your host and your guest OS.

Click on User Interfaces settings; here, you can change how the user interface is displayed in the VM Connection.

• Select from available sites and subsites in the destination.

Note: There are many properties and different attributes that you can choose to migrate along with the primary data from the SharePoint site.

• Select List/Library attributes and hit Next. choose the filters as per your convenience.
• Select the option to Migrate Permissions. Choose the option Add new mapping for remapping users and permissions. Tap on Next.
• You can even use the schedule feature for the migration process. Tap on Next.

The VirtualBox will automatically provide the Type and Version of the OS used in the virtual machine by using the name. We use Ubuntu 22, so VirtualBox sets the Type to Linux and Version to Ubuntu.

Select the VM’s available memory and click next. It will vary depending on your system. We have 4GB of RAM and an 8-core processor so that you can assign as per requirements to the VM. Click next

Under virtual hard disk, select “Create a virtual hard disk now”.

Select the size of your Ubuntu virtual machine. We will keep the virtual disk size, which is 50 GB, and choose next.

Verify the virtual machine settings and click on finish.

Wait for the disk to be created.
We have successfully created a virtual machine in Oracle VirtualBox.

How to Attach an Ubuntu ISO File

Click on the settings icon.

Under virtual machine settings, click on storage.
Next to the optional drive, click on the disk icon and select Choose a disk file.

Select your Ubuntu ISO file and click open.

Click ok.

How to Install Oracle VirtualBox on Windows

This blog is intended to help you install Oracle VirtualBox on Windows so that you can install Linux or Windows on virtual machines. Do you want to try a different operating system but don’t want to risk installing it on your primary computer? Can software be tested on various platforms without setting up different computers? Don’t worry. You can install VirtualBox on Windows 11/10 and create guest VMs instead of using Windows 10/11.

Virtual Machine hide our PCs’ hardware, like the CPU, hard drives, memory, network interface cards (NICs), and more, into several different execution environments that we can choose from. This makes it seem like each execution environment is a separate computer. Take VirtualBox as an example.

Virtual machines are created for several reasons, all of which are fundamentally linked to the capability of sharing the same basic hardware while also being able to run different operating systems simultaneously.

Download Oracle VirtualBox for Windows Hosts

Launch a web browser and go to the VirtualBox downloads page. Find and choose the link for Windows hosts. The latest Oracle VirtualBox version as of this writing is 7.0.18. Save the installer file somewhere, like your Downloads folder.

Under VirtualBox 7.0.18 platform packages, click on Windows host to download.

To install Oracle VirtualBox on Windows 10, go to your downloaded directory and find the appropriate installation file for your host.

Double-click on the VirtualBox installer file to open the VirtualBox wizard via File Explorer.

Welcome to the Oracle VirtualBox setup wizard. Choose next.

The installation instructions allow you to choose a location to install it in. You should adhere to the defaults on the C: drive to ensure everything essential is installed so that VirtualBox works as expected. Choose Next

Select no under Warning: Network Interfaces. Installation of the VirtualBox Networking feature will reset the network connection and allow the movement to disconnect you from the network. It will also provide a virtual network adapter for network connections. Click next.

For the Oracle VM VirtualBox python core, choose yes.

If you are ready to install Oracle VirtualBox, choose Install.

Oracle VM VirtualBox installation is in progress.

Once VirtualBox is installed, click Finish to launch Oracle VM VirtualBox.
